During the planning stages for our advert we had to draw up a production schedule. This would help us to break down each stage of the advert. We was then able to assign tasks to individuals within the group and give then a date of completion for those tasks. By doing this we was able to track when tasks were behind or ahead of schedule. During the script writing stage, we were able to come up with a script, even though it was only one page, it had everything in it that we needed. Throughout our research, we found out that this was possible as the Nytol advert produced by Aardman Studios is also done by using a one page script. Our production was done in a similar way, but on a smaller scale. Our set design was different compared to Nytol's, in the fact that it was smaller, but it was set in a box, like theirs.

19/03/12 - Complete of My Evaluation!!!

Today I've finished my Evaluation, talking about the feedback that I got back for the views of my advert. I thought i wouldn't have finished it today, but I got it done and handed it in. In my opinion its great to do an Evaluation because you can explain what you think of it and the good/ bad points you thought of it, also what can be improved when it comes around in doing it again.....

15/03/12 - Start of Evaluation

Today, I was preparing my evaluation to do with our audience feedback. I only was asked to do the first three paragraphs of our evaluation because I wasn't prepared to finish it because I hadn't finish my audience feedback questionnaires. In order to do that I had to complete them, by going around the college campus or outside of college for people to see our animation advert. This gives us a good chance to see the good and bad views on what people thought of our animation. We had to make it clear by going about our target audience because it was only fair on us, otherwise if we didn't go by this, we would have different comparisons on somebody that doesn't fit our target audience. This has been good because it goes to show that I can give my views about my project on what went bad, as well as my audience feedback, mainly I had to talk about what my audience thought of it as a piece of art.

14/03/12 Part 2

This afternoon my group and I was focusing on our focus group. We managed to get professionals e.g. teachers to watch our 2D animation to get feedback from that, in order for them to do this they filled out a questionnaire. This will help me with my evaluation, getting various feedbacks from various tutors from college. This afternoon I also managed to complete my three paragraphs of my evaluation, which still needs completing.

14/03/12 Part 1

This morning is a tutorial session whereby we either find jobs within the Media industry or we complete work that we haven't yet completed in other lessons. As for me, I am doing both trying to look or find jobs within the Media sector, which nothing catches my full attention. Also, I'm about to start my evaluation, trying to finish my three paragraphs off...

12/03/12

Today I have been very busy with completing my questionnaires towards my focus groups, part as my audience feedback for my evaluation. I have done both 3D & 2D questions. I mainly asked people what they thought about our animations and if they thought their could be some improvement for our animations. Also I have started my evaluation, I was told do start my three paragraphs, since my tutor gave us a handout in what needs to be in out evaluation. Our evaluation needs to cover, only our audience feedback. It has been a hard and stressful day as well as tiring, trying to get it done with getting my three paragraphs making sense.

Recording Sound Track...

For our sound track, we recorded our voiceovers opposite the studio. We as a team had to be particularly aware of noises around such as computers being on, therefore we had to make sure that the computer macs were off at all times and especially being aware of people walking past having footsteps in the background especially having the door wide open. Having recorded the sound track, we could have recorded in a better place, but we were lucky because it was very quiet and no one was around, which was a great time to do the sound. We done it this way to get great audio syncranisation.

Pre-Production - What documentation to support team

Pre-Production work which I was involved in  was writing the script for the team as well as catching up with sketching out the new 2D animation storyboard. Before coming up with ideas for the 2D animation, we as a team decided to change it around a bit because its more imaginative to promote it this way...

08/03/12

Today, we was preparing our for our focus group, in which we gather a target audience to do with our animation to get some feedback for our animation. This afternoon, I was typing up a bunch of question to ask my focus group about our animation. I have asked about 8 questions, but in total, we need to ask 10, but I have asked question to talk about in a group discussion, by watching the clip again to find out there own opinions on certain topics.

Characters for 2D Animation!!!

These are images of my team, which one of the team Lauren, drew for our 2D animation. We had different range of ideas for our 2D animation, but we all thought in having us drawn in a cartoon way to produce our production team.

22/02/12 - 24/02/12

During the fist week back after half term was filming week. Between 22nd February and 24th February was my group's chance in filming. On the Wednesday we were preparing it because we didn't have time to film, so we had to start filming on the Thursday because we wasn't prepared or organised for filming our animation. In order to finish it off, we had to come in on our day off to complete it, which was okay with my group because we had to get it done and it was the best thing to do because we had finished our 3D and 2D animation in two days which was really eventful and we got a lot done in one day.

Well, its been awhile updating my blog, so lets get down to business with what I have been up to in the past few weeks...

Today in this lesson, I have been editing our animation avert getting it to look near professional. I recently came back from holiday, so its mainly catching up and I have to edit my own animation to show my tutor that I have actually done some editing to help my group. It had been the most stressful couple of days, trying to put the work together, its a bit like a puzzle because we didn't exactly go in order. Our animation was a little hard to complete, so us as a group did the scenes we thought would take longer and believe me it took hours to do the first 5 seconds of our animation. It has been interesting to get back to animation again because it goes to show my editing, filming and animating skills to my class mates who have never done animation before, even though they have used final cut pro previously in other projects e.g. Music Video and Social Action Media.

08/02/12

Today was our presentation for our pitch for our advert. We had to present three slides each, abit like a story, start, middle and the end. I think it went well, but their was room for improvement becaue my tutor was telling me that I kept on fidgiting, which I do agree with her, this is purely because of nerves and the fact that theres a camera filming our pitch. In my own opinion, I think I presented my presentation very well, but in order to get the best possible grade, I will need practice to present to a client or anyone for that matter. My presentation skills do need work on in the near future....

Here's some photos of our bathroom scene that I have finished painting. I got stuck in painting the floor first, which was a silly thing to do, but when I come around doing this next time, I then know to paint or start on the walls, to make it less messy from painting the floor first then getting paint on the floor while im painting the walls to go over it again and again.

Today in class, we as a group was very busy in trying to complete our characters and set. As you can see I was finishing off painiting our set for our advert, even though its not complete yet, but almost there!!! We also got our props all done, what we are having in the set to go with the room. One of our team members (Micheal) researched some furniture to go into our set and on the plus side we have began to stick those props on cardboard in order for them to stand or sit up straight while we film our advert. It has been a good day, nothing could have gone wrong, all of us as a group have been really busy trying to make this achievable.

Today in this lesson, I am preparing for my presentation for Wednesday (08/02/12) getting prepared to present it to my class. Therefore, my tutor will give us feedback in order to do better and get a higher grade. This will give me a boost in my preparation and achieve the best possible grade.

My Group's Set! 02/02/12

As well as starting my characters and Micheal was finishing helping me with that, I started to paint our set for our animation advert. I asked my group what colour are we having for the flooring, they asked me to paint in light brown. Instead of having the colours Red and Yellow to make it light Brown, I went with Brown and White not thinking that the other colours would make brown. So, I went with my instinct thinking it would be nice having Brown and White together. I was quite concerned about my team memebers in case if they didn;t like the colour, but they had no problem with it, in fact they thought it went really well. The trouble with this colour, we will find in particular I would find that we will have trouble finding wallpaper to match the flooring, since its part of a living room. Today as worked rather well as a team to work on our advert.

Creating Character! 02/02/12

Today in this lesson my group and I were creating our characters for our animation advert. I started to do a devil character, hence our advert having an angel and a devil. My character didn't go so well as I hoped, but luckily my team member Micheal helped me out to make it much better and unique. Knowing now, when I created the aspect, I should have took another photo to see my improvement in making my character. I enjoyed todays lesson giving the fact to create characters that you may not have done before in a sophisticated way. This has made me think twice in taking up animation because it can be motivational and appealing towards your peers.

Presentation!!!

My group and I are presenting our pitch to the class to show what idea that we have come up with and hopefully get feedback from them to see if they think its a good idea. Next week (08/02/12) our presentation will be held and we will make the effort to progress and achieve in getting the point across when it comes to animating it too. This will be achievable to us when it comes to the animating our advert.

01/02/12

Today in this lesson, my group and I was starting our pitch for our presentation for next week. We each are doing 2 to 3 slides to fit into the presentation. We all need to talk a load of different material for our presentation such as; introducing ourselves, target audience, storyline, graphs and images of our chosen topic etc. Today has been eventful for us and me especially because it goes to show that I can work together as part of a team to get it all done and in on time to reach the deadline.

Secondary Research!

As a group, after we have completed our claymation advert, we are going to organise a focus group to view our advert to get audience feedback from various people or students or possibly teachers. This will give us an overview on what the public thought of our ad campaign. While these random people watch our advert, they can give us feedback stating if they like it or hate it, to be truthful and honest, so then they can give us feedback in how to improve on it next time round, unless if they had other opinions on our advert.....

Primary Research!

As a group we made 15 questionnaires to ask 15 people to get the overview of their opinion in drugs and asking them open and closed questions to overview the topic more clearly to everyone. I benefited this research by going out and asking different random people in how they feel the use of drugs. By doing this research it gives me the chance to collect all my data and find out the research that I wouldn't have known before. Eventually collecting our research and we shall put them in graphs, this will tell us what we found out by asking these questions to the public. By creating graphs, this will help us write up our evaluation when it comes to do it looking back on our primary research.

Claymation

By watching Wallace and Gromit, it's very talented and creative! We as a group are making a claymation on the topic Drugs. This character is done in 3D animation, which we are also doing a 3D animated advert getting across the risks of drugs and the effects of it.

30/01/12

Today my group and I have put together our proposal for our advert. This is a clear idea of our idea, indicating what we are doing for our topic and explaining what it's going to be about. Also, we have gone out to the public to get overviews about doing drugs by getting them to fill out questionnaires. This will finish off our primary research gathering all of our information for our evaluation at the end of this project. As a group, we have been given a different section to talk about the proposal, such as: My team member Michael has been doing the introduction of our proposal, introducing our team etc, what skills as a team we all have..... I was talking about the target audience and our results of our questionnaires, giving us feedback and my other team member Lauren was ending our proposal stating the story outline of our advert and we will emerge it together to get on long proposal. As you can see that we are a productive team that is trying to make a good and well educated advert to the viewers.

Today my group and I were planning our pre production for our advert and 2D animation. Subsequently I noticed that our animation may or mat not work, so we though of another way idea to make it work at professional standard. Initially, I came up with an idea that was out of this world, but when it came to preparing our animation we had second thoughts in how to go about our animation. As a group we need to think of other ways in going about our storyline to make it easier for us as a group.
